Youth Connections Assistant               

POSITION SUMMARY:

Forty Mile Youth Connections in Bow Island is seeking an individual who enjoys working with young people in a fun and casual setting. This position performs a variety of duties in connection with local schools, F.C.S.S. and businesses in our community. This position is a contract position until April 30, 2010 with possibility of renewal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Youth Desk services provide information for youth programs, career planning and employment
• Resume and job search support
• Career planning assistance
• Referrals to programs, services and community agencies
• Update youth employment and volunteer boards
• Community awareness and promotion of youth center activities and services (posters, pamphlets, school presentations, children’s festival etc…)
• Mentoring and youth supervision in centre
• Computer work and Internet surfing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Standard First Aid & CPR is an asset
• Knowledge of  Microsoft Word, Office, Publisher and Excel and Internet Searching an asset

HOURS OF WORK:     Monday to Wednesday & Friday 1-5 pm.

                                    Thursday 1-9 pm
